City of Durango seeks input on drought plan

The city of Durango is seeking public comment about its Drought Management Plan, which has been in development during the past year.

The plan is designed to identify and formalize methods of drought identification, mitigation and response.

The Drought Committee, which includes representatives from various city departments, the Utilities Commission and Fort Lewis College, has worked through the identification of objectives, historical impacts and vulnerabilities to develop drought stages and associated responses to write the Drought Management Plan.

The draft plan is available at www.DurangoGov.org/utilities.

The deadline for public comment is Nov. 15. Comments can be provided by email at utilities@durangogov.org or by filling out a survey at bit.ly/2lOlzYX.
