Eric Mindling will host a presentation titled, “Living Threads: A Portrait of Cultural Diversity, Roots and Belonging Told through Cloth,” at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Lyceum Room of Center of Southwest Studies at Fort Lewis College, 1000 Rim Drive.
Mindling will share stories, and present photographs and research, conducted during the Living Threads Project, a two-year photo-documentary of traditional clothing from indigenous Mexico still produced and worn today.
Mindling, who also runs a cultural tour company, will have copies of his book, Oaxaca: Stories in Cloth, for purchase and will sign books after the lecture.
Center of Southwest Studies is planning a “Day of the Dead” trip to Oaxaca with Mindling in 2018, with more information available at the lecture.
The lecture is free and open to all.
