Bayfield highway access plan meeting set
The Town of Bayfield, La Plata County, and Colorado Department of Transportation will hold an open house on Thursday, Oct. 23, to take comments on the Commerce Drive/Highway 160 access.
Access plan project team members will be available from 3 to 7 p.m. at the town hall to meet with interested parties. The draft access plan along with comment sheets are available on the town home page, www.bayfieldgov.org. Comments can be dropped off at town hall. The comment deadline is Nov. 6.
For more information contact Town Manager Chris La May at 884-9544 or e-mail clamay@bayfieldgov.org.
The access plan covers Hwy. 160 from the west end of Gem Village to just east of Bayfield. It will dictate where accesses will be allowed and is supposed to allow for more flexibility than the expressway designation given to this highway section by the State Transportation Commission in 1999.
