Auditions for the fall production of “Fool for Love” will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Durango Arts Center Theater, 802 East Second Ave.
Four actors are needed; three age 20 to 40 and one male age 50 to 70. No experience is necessary. Audition scenes are available to pick up. Rehearsals will be begin in late July and run through August. Performances will take place from Aug. 27 to Aug. 29 and from Sept. 7 to Sept. 11. This play is for mature audiences only.

An opening reception for “The Thread,” an exhibit of solar plate etchings by Santa Fe artist Laurie Archer, will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. May 5 in the Art Library of the Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave.
Archer will give an artist talk and expand on her experience creating this body of work at 7 p.m.

Artists living and working in Southwest Colorado are invited to apply for one-week artist residencies at Willowtail Springs.
As part of the residency, artists are expected to propose and deliver a project that brings their experience at Willowtail back to the community, whether this takes the form of a lecture, slideshow of work, exhibition, etc., is up to the resident. Applications are due June 6.

The Durango Arts Center is seeking artists for the annual Juried Exhibit and annual Plein Air Exhibit.
The 40th annual Juried Art Exhibition is open to all artists working in any traditional or contemporary 2D and 3D media except film. Submissions are due to the center on May 24.
The 2016 Juried Plein Air Exhibit, An Artist’s Vision of Reality, is open to all artists and entries are to be plein air, any medium except photography, created within the last two years and not larger than 3 feet x 3 feet. All work submitted must be for sale. Submissions are due to the center on June 28.
