The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded $15,074 to the La Plata County jurisdiction to supplement existing emergency food and shelter programs.
Under the grant terms, local agencies chosen to receive money must:
- Be a private, voluntary board or units of government.
- Have an accounting system.
- Practice nondiscrimination.
- Have demonstrated the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs.
Qualified agencies are urged to apply.

The closing date for applications is 6 p.m. June 10.
The local Emergency Food and Shelter Board will convene to review applications and allocate funding at 10:30 a.m. June 11 via Zoom.
