Go Green and vote for Arn Menconi

The Green Party of La Plata County is proud to endorse and encourage your vote for Arn Menconi who is running for the U.S. Senate from Colorado.

Menconi is a dad with two young children and an MBA graduate, as well as a former Eagle County commissioner. He is currently the executive director of a national youth development charity for disadvantaged kids.

Menconi is running for the Senate to take democracy back from the big-money corporations, Wall Street and the top 1 percent, and he will represent the people’s interest in Washington. He is committed to a ban on fracking, opposing the Trans Pacific Partnership, cutting the bloated wasteful military budget, ending the endless wars while reversing U.S. policy in the Middle East and support for a single-payer health care system like ColoradoCare.

Menconi also pledges to pursue tax justice by enforcing stiff penalties on the banks, including a Wall Street tax on speculation and a tax on all earnings by U.S.-based multinational corporations, reinstating Glass-Steagall and cracking down on shell corporations which operate outside the law.

Menconi’s opponent, Sen. Michael Bennet, can be counted on to continue the establishment politics of war, global instability, corporate dominance and economic deprivation.

Menconi promises a rational foreign policy that will end foreign aid to countries except for humanitarian crisis. Last week in a Senate vote to provide Saudi Arabia with the funds for its war in Yemen, Bennet voted “aye.” Twenty-seven other Democratic senators voted “no.”

The Green Party urges a vote for Arn Menconi for U.S. Senate.
