The second annual AlannaBear Classic Baseball Tournament will take place Friday to Sunday in Durango.
Thirty-one local and out-of-town teams will compete in the 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 14U tournament.
Alanna Ryann Lucero, now 6 years old, underwent a heart transplant surgery on Sept. 7, 2020, at Children’s Hospital in Denver. The proceeds will help with lifelong medical expenses the family will endure.
The family is in the process of creating a foundation in her name to help local youths and families battling life-threatening and life-changing conditions with both medical and travel expenses.
An online silent auction will take place from 8 a.m. Friday to 1 p.m. Sunday with items donated by individuals, businesses and teams participating in the tournament.
