I am writing in support of County Commissioner Gwen Lachelt.
My family has lived in La Plata County for nearly 30 years, and I have owned property here for 11 years. As a Democrat, I appreciate Gwen’s support of programs in our county that make life better for its citizens, especially her work on environmental protections. As a capitalist, I appreciate the effect these programs have on my property values. My land will continue to appreciate in value so long as we maintain a clean environment and social programs for those that need them.
I don’t believe that special interests, especially those in the oil and gas industries, should have influence on the quality of life in La Plata County.
