The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is paving U.S. Highway 160 near Bayfield this week.
The paving operation will take place over three days along a one-mile stretch of the highway just east of Gem Village, continuing one mile east to approximately County Road506.
Through Wednesday, drivers will encounter traffic stops and brief delays of 15 to 20 minutes between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Vehicles will be guided by flaggers through one-lane, alternating traffic control. Crews will pave both lanes on the first day of operation, then continue paving eastward toward Bayfield for about one mile near CR 506.
Drivers are urged to use caution and slow down while driving in the area and be aware of maintenance wokers and heavy equipment on and along the roadway.
