San Juan Basin Health hired Kate Jones as Communities that Care program coordinator and Vanessa Bohaty as a part-time nurse.
Jones has an masters in clinical social work from New Mexico Highlands University and an undergraduate degree from Western State College, with experience in family advocacy and early childhood development. She will be addressing substance abuse prevention in La Plata and Archuleta counties.
Bohaty joined the immunization clinic as a part-time nurse. She has been a practicing registered nurse since 2008 in the acute-care setting and will be helping deliver mass immunization clinics as well as appointments in Durango and Pagosa Springs. She received an associate degree in nursing from San Juan College and a bachelor’s in English from Fort Lewis College.
