Commissioners go on the road to Ignacio
The La Plata County Commissioners will hold their first On the Road meeting of the year on March 24 in Ignacio. They invite locals to come ask questions make comments about county affairs at the Ignacio Community Library starting at 7 p.m. For information call 382-6219.
Lions Club offers scholarship
The Bayfield Lions Club is offering a scholarship to an area high school graduate.
Scholarship applications are at Bayfield High School and are due April 10.
Home chore services available
Seniors age 60 and older have resources available from Durango-LaPlata Senior Services's home chore program. The program is designed to help seniors stay in their home by helping with installation of grab bars, small repairs to make the home safer or accessible, safety assessments, periodic house cleaning, spring and fall yard clean-ups and limited snow shoveling help. Library offering watercolor class
A beginning watercolor class will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursdays in April at the Ignacio Community Library.
All materials will be furnished. There is a $10 materials fee. The class starts April 2. Register for the class at the library or by calling 563-9287.
Tickets on sale for cattlemen's banquet
Tickets are now available for the La Plata-Archuleta Cattlemen's Banquet and Ball on April 18. Tickets are at Basin Co-op in Durango, Wells Fargo Bank in Ignacio, Valley Feeds in Gem Village, and Goodman's Department Store in Pagosa Springs. The event will take place at the Sky Ute Event Center in Ignacio.
Early registration due today for Easter run
The Town of Bayfieldd Easter Egg 5K and 1K is set for Saturday, April 4. The run is at the Pine River Senior Center at 10:30.
Early registration is due today at Bayfield Town Hall. The cost is $20 for adults and $10 for kids for the 5K, and that includes a barbecue lunch. The cost is free for the 1K.
T-shirts are included with the 5K race, or can be purchased for $15. Race day registration is an extra $5, and there will be no guarantees on T-shirts. For more information, call Bayfield Parks and Recreation at 884-9544.
