50 years ago: The Durango City Council bought a new police car and renewed four liquor licenses during a 25-minute session Tuesday night at City Hall. Durango Dodge, Inc., was low bidder on the new four-door sedan with three-speed transmission which will be used by the police department. Low bid was $2,315.73
25 years ago: Bayfield School District 10JT-R officials say they are working to eliminate the radon problem in some buildings with improved ventilation and air conditioning. Bayfield was among 15 districts in Colorado found to have high levels of radon gas in its schools, according to a state report released Wednesday.
