The Liberty School to discuss gifted students

The Liberty School will host a collaborative community session about the needs of gifted students in Durango at 6 p.m. July 10 at 215 E. 12th St.

Figure drawing classes available at arts center

The Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave., will offer two summer drawing classes taught by artist Ed Bolster.

“Beginning Drawing” will be taught from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays from July 8 through Aug. 5. Designed for the novice, this course will introduce fundamental techniques in drawing as well as essential elements of design. Students will use graphite pencils, charcoal and brush.

“Figure Drawing” will be taught from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursdays from July 10 through Aug. 7. This course is designed for people who have some drawing experience. Working from live models, students will learn advanced drawing techniques and develop their natural way of drawing.

The cost for each class is $100 for members, $125 for nonmembers plus applicable materials fees. To register or for more information, call 259-2606 or visit www.durangoarts.org.
