Durango PlayFest is seeking full-length play submissions (60 to 90 pages) for its Aug. 3-8 festival.
There will be a reading by local actors of the selected work. The festival seeks work with strong, relevant themes – whether comedy or drama – that address our humanity. Works should feature no more than three characters.
Playwrights must be from Southwest Colorado and available for rehearsals via Zoom or in person in July and during the festival. PlayFest will accommodate the playwright’s current work schedule as much as possible. There is no reading fee.
Submissions (Word documents or PDFs) should be emailed to durangoplayfest@gmail.com to be considered by a team of local and professional readers. The subject line should read SUBMISSION: Title of the Play. Include your name and contact information on the first page. All pages should be numbered and feature the title of the play.
The submission deadline is June 21.
