75 years ago: The La Plata chapter of the Red Cross planned to ship 100 “bundles” that each contained 30 to 40 garments, “intended for refugees overseas.”
50 years ago: A total of 82,493 people visited Mesa Verde National Park during June, an increase of 3.9 percent from the previous year.
25 years ago: A 30-year-old Texas man was cited for trespassing after police caught him climbing a telephone pole in the 800 block of Narrow Gauge Avenue.
