Letters: the ban-bags busybodies are back

The busybody bag banners are back, and probably no smarter than they were a few years ago.

Sneakier? Probably!

More deceitful? Most definitely!

But not smarter.

They will be taking their bags-are-bad narrative to City Council hoping that this newest council isn’t any smarter than the previous one.

Let’s hope the council won’t let this issue get out of hand again like it did last time. A feel-good policy such as this serves only to make the supporters of the idea feel good about themselves.

These people believe they know what is better for you than you do.

This group believes the people of Durango are naive and gullible enough to agree to this nonsense; after all, they were naive and gullible enough to not only believe it, but to campaign for it.

They are selfish enough to impose undue hardships upon tourists and the elderly caught by surprise by the unfair ordinance they support.

I have a feeling the germs and disease spread by the reusable bags won’t come up in their arguments.

The citizens voted down the bag ban. Don’t make us pay to have another election.
