If the wall is built, cover it with art

Come hell or high water, the campaign promise to build a “huge” Mexican border wall will happen faster than you can shake a stick.

The billions and billions of dollars to construct and maintain this major project should, in my opinion, have a goodwill message to lessen the current objections.

How about covering the 2,000 miles of steel wall with art?

With each panel of wall erected, there could be painted murals to completely cover the stark-nakedness of steel. Why not have artists on both sides of the border and qualified judges decide what murals go up that are tasteful and pleasing to the eye?

During the many months of construction, communities in the 2,000-mile stretch could host gatherings with religious faiths, and what an honor it would be to also have Pope Francis make an appearance.

The sky is the limit as to what could take place at the wall; something very magical and innocent could happen if there is a peaceful outcome.
