Durangoans will have some transit options on Friday, the Fourth of July, but options will be limited.

However, buses will run the citywide Route 6 from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. No deviations will be allowed, and no service will be provided to Mercy Regional Medical Center. The fare for the public is $1. Seniors older than 60 and the disabled pay 50 cents. Children who are 5 and younger ride free.

The Main Avenue Trolley, which is free, will run from 7 a.m. to 10:40 p.m.; one Opportunity Bus will run.

The Durango Intermodal Transit Center, including the parking window, will be closed.

Two free shuttles are expected to start at 5:30 p.m. They’ll pick up and drop off at north City Market, the La Plata County Fairgrounds and the Transit Center. The last shuttle will leave the Transit Center at 10:30 p.m.

The Buzz Bus will run from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. The cost is $8.

All downtown parking is free. Downtown events include a noon barbecue at the Durango Elks Lodge, a parade at 6 p.m. followed by a street dance on Main Avenue.
