Library to host International Party

New language database to be unveiled

Join Bayfield's international community at the Pine River Library and start down the road to multilingualism with their new Mango Languages Database. The library will host an International Party in celebration of all cultures.

"We are excited to bring a little international flair to the Library," said Library Director Shelley Walchak. "Speaking a different language allows us to enter into a different world."

Local bilingual community members have been invited to host booths celebrating their native languages and heritage.

Attendees will "travel" from one country booth to another, learning a few phrases in the local dialect while snacking on a regional dish. Booths aren't limited to only well-known languages such as French and Spanish, but will also include "Pirate," which will teach you how to say "Arrr, matey!"

The Mango Languages database includes 60 foreign language courses and 17 English courses. The event will also include prize drawings and a short demonstration on how to use the database. Join the party for language learning fun and delicious international treats!
