The La Plata County League of Women Voters, with support from The Durango Herald, will hold a forum with La Plata County Commissioner, Sheriff and Treasurer candidates from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at the La Plata County Administration Building, 1101 East Second Ave.
The forum will include contested candidates for:
Commissioner: Brad Blake, incumbent, Republican; Clyde Church, Democrat.Sheriff: Charles Hamby, Republican; Adrian Dean Mize, unaffiliated; Sean Smith, incumbent, Democrat.Treasurer: Allison Aichele, incumbent, Democrat; Colton Black, Republican.Uncontested candidates are invited to appear and give introductions.
The forum will be live-streamed from The Durango Herald website: www.durangoherald.com and Facebook page: www.facebook.com/thedurangoherald.
Community members can ask questions in-person at the forum, online through the live-stream on The Durango Herald website or before the forum in an email to: "League of Women Voters" at trishpegram@gmail.com. Questions will be sorted and consolidated by the League of Women Voters.
The election will be held Nov. 6.
