Medicare for all? Not hardly! People now on Medicare paid into the system all their working lives and their funds were matched by their employers. People working now and their employers are doing the same, and yet due to the inefficiency and waste of our bureaucratic federal government, it is set to go broke by 2026 at the latest.
Put new people into the system who have not paid life-long? CRASH! Medicare payments do not cover the cost of treatments given, and have to be supplemented by higher charges to private insurance, without which hospitals would go out of business.
Now let’s look at doctors, the very brightest of their high school classes, on to college where they are top students taking extremely hard classes, then another four years of medical school and years after specializing. Then they’re expected to work for the meager payments from Medicare?
That wouldn’t even cover their malpractice insurance. Such dedicated, caring and hard-working saints! They have limits; will they still want to put in that effort?
People in other countries that have “socialized medicine” wait long periods for appointments and longer times for procedures, and health care is rationed and can be denied. People in those countries that can afford it come here for their care; that should tell even the ideologues on the left something.
As with most Democrat ideas, this one sound good on the surface; but when one looks deeper, it falls apart, is unattainable and unworkable.
