Nakai concert in Pagosa to benefit Tara Mandala
R. Carlos Nakai will perform in concert to benefit Tara Mandala at 8 p.m. July 11 at Tara Mandala Retreat Center, 4000 United States Forest Service Road 649 in Pagosa Springs.
The cost is $30, and the gate will open at 7 p.m.
Nakai is a Grammy-nominated Native American flutist. He is the premier performer of the traditional Native American flute. His traditional music is complemented with new age, world-beat, jazz and classical musical elements.

Baptist church to host Bible Time program
Pine River Valley Baptist Church, 11942 Colorado Highway 172, will host its Neighborhood Bible Time for ages 3 to 5 and students in first- to sixth-grade from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
There will be Bible stories, missionary stories, ribbons, competitions and food.
In Teens, for students in grades seventh to 12th, will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday through Thursday.
There will be games, competitions, Bible stories and dinner each night. Saturday will feature bowling, Wednesday will be water night, and Thursday is titled “Destination Unknown.”
