As the owner of the Silverton Train Store, I want to thank everyone from Durango for driving up the hill to support our local businesses. Silverton merchants appreciate it because we know the Durango economy has also suffered from the cancellation of the train for the past three weeks.
I also want to remind train critics that the same train drives your economy as well as ours. The train attracts tourists from all over our country and around the world. If it goes out of business, Silverton will cease to exist as we know it and Durango will be severely crippled.
