Durango District 9-R schools will host fall events in October:
A fall carnival will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Animas Valley Elementary, 373 Hermosa Road. It will feature food, face-painting, a bouncy house, muffin walk, spirit-store sale, bake sale, “date with a husky” and fun games.A Halloween carnival will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 at Sunnyside Elementary School, 75 County Road 218. It will feature a haunted house, silent auction, pumpkin decorating contest and other activities.A Halloween carnival will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 28 at Fort Lewis Mesa Elementary, 11274 Highway 140, in Hesperus.
