Men’s Results (Quarterfinals): No. 14 Marin Cilic reached his first U.S. Open semifinal, upsetting No. 6 Tomas Berdych in straight sets. Cilic will face No. 2 Roger Federer, who came from behind to beat No. 20 Gael Monfils 4-6, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, 6-2.
Men’s Doubles Results (Semifinals): Men – the top-seeded team of Bob and Mike Bryan advanced to their 27th Grand Slam final, beating Americans Scott Lipsky and Rajeev Ram. They’ll face No. 11-seeded Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez of Spain, who beat Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo.
Women’s Doubles Results (Semifinals): Singles semifinalist Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina beat 43-year-old Kimiko Date-Krumm and Barbora Zahlavova Strycova in straight sets to set up a final matchup with Martina Hingis and Flavia Pennetta. Hingis’ last Grand Slam title was the Australian Open mixed doubles in 2006.
