The Home Builders Association of Southwest Colorado is offering a $2,000 academic college scholarship and a $1,000 vocational/trade school scholarship to local graduating high school students planning to attend post-secondary education in any aspect of the construction industry.
Candidates will be considered based on work ethic, interest in pursuing a career in building construction or design and a willingness to learn.
Application requirements include a cover sheet with contact information, a letter describing future plans, desired school and interest in construction. Applicants should submit a transcript showing a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0, letters of recommendation from two teachers or employers, and a photographed portfolio of two individual projects.
Recipients will be chosen by a committee consisting of the association and relevant school-district representatives.
