I thank all our City Council members for their hours of study of local issues and their thoughtful reflections on what is best for the majority of our residents. Even though they have not always agreed, they have respectfully discussed and collaborated with each other in ways that benefit Durango’s citizens.
These dedicated members are resilient and withstand harsh and sometimes personal and petty criticism from opponents that disagree with their perspectives on an issue.
I am hoping our new City Council members can join the existing councilors and collaborate with each other, regardless of different beliefs, for the betterment of our community. Thoughtful listening and study, the habit of collaboration and astute organization management all take wisdom and life experience.
I endorse Barbara Noseworthy for City Council because of her kindness, wisdom, listening and reflection skills and her thoughtful problem-solving abilities. As a strategic planner, Barbara understands how the various issues fit into the big picture of enhancing our city structures, supporting all sectors of our community, improving business opportunities and protecting our neighborhoods.
She has an open agenda of building and protecting our community; she is not a single-issue candidate. She is thoughtful and solution-focused on homeless issues, budget management, business success and finding ways to maintain structural issues.
