‘Hope and change’ beats ‘party of death’

In comparing sheriff candidate Sean Smith’s campaign slogan “Expect more” to Barack Obama’s “Hope and change,” Rhonda Simplicio (Letters, Herald, July 16) asked “how has that worked out for this country and La Plata County?” It’s worked out fine for me: My daughter, who has a pre-existing condition now, has excellent health care in spite of the “party of death,” which voted 50 times for people with pre-existing conditions to die due to lack of health care.
