Volunteers sought for Children’s Water Festival

Southwestern Water Conservation District seeks volunteers for the 23rd annual Children’s Water Festival on May 2 at Fort Lewis College, 1000 Rim Drive.

The festival is a science conference for fifth-grade students that focuses on global water issues by offering exhibits and hands-on presentations about water-related topics. About 30 volunteer guides are needed to lead more than 650 students to stations set up on campus.

Guides will meet at 7:30 a.m. in the Student Union Ballroom and work until 2 or 3 p.m.

Breakfast, lunch, a festival shirt and a water bottle will be provided.

The deadline to sign up is April 16.

To volunteer, call or email Elaine Chick at 247-1302 or elaine@waterinfo.org.
