Will Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department be understandably investigated for extortion because of its licensing policies?
Apparently, there are serious concerns as to the way it squeezes additional funds from the everyday hunter, both out-of-state and resident.
The newest regulations require a hunter to purchase an unwanted and unneeded lesser license to pursue Rocky in order to purchase the desired license to pursue Bullwinkle. The only purpose of the new requirement is to generate additional unethical funds.
Since it is not practical to carry multiple firearms while hunting, will the moose hunter be tempted to shoot a poor little squirrel with a huge moose gun to retaliate against the agency that ripped him off? When a person starts out angry about being taken advantage of, that and other negative scenarios are a very real possibility. It could get ugly!
This mission of greed is an embarrassment to all of Colorado and its residents. It doesn’t matter if you agree with hunting or not; once one bureaucracy gets away with this, all the other bureaucracies that are waiting to see the results will try similar tactics to increase their revenues.
Get ready to buy a motorcycle license the next time you go in to buy your automobile driver’s license. How about an access fee in order to pay for your vehicle registration? The parks and trails fee you have to purchase before you can pay for your Recreation Center membership will most likely be irritating. When you have to pay an annual resident parking pass fee in order to park and pay at a meter, you will begin to understand. Lake Nighthorse policies may be the first to generate protest marches.
Our city and businesses will suffer without the hunters and other tourists who won’t be here to support them and contribute to the sales tax.
