Singers young and old invited to audition
Members of the community are invited to audition to sing in the Durango Choral Society. Auditions will be held Monday by appointment in the late afternoon and evening at St. Mark’s Church, 910 East Third Ave.
Singers must have choral experience, be able to demonstrate the ability to balance and blend in a vocal group, read music and verify availability for the rehearsal and performance schedule.

Meet pioneers at cemetery tour
“Our Railroad Pioneers,” a tour of Greenmount Cemetery, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Actors in period clothing will tell the stories of pioneers from all over the world who brought train service to Durango and the Four Corners.
Refreshments will be served before the tour. Participants should meet at the cemetery office parking area. The tour is free, and donations will benefit Animas Museum.

Artists invited to apply for online exhibit
Durango Arts Center showcases the work of DAC member artists in rotating online exhibitions through an interactive online exhibit platform.
All artists who are current members of DAC, professional and amateur, and all art media will be considered in this call for entries. Considered media includes photography, wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media and all paintings and drawings.
An online gallery of a maximum of 25 works will be available on the DAC website for three months, and promotion will be made to celebrate the selected artist. Artist groups also are invited to apply.
Submission deadline is Monday. The DAC Online Exhibit selection committee will notify the selected artist that will be represented on DAC’s website until Oct. 21.
