Now we know Sen. Cory Gardner’s price

With his recent vote to confirm one of the most spectacularly unqualified cabinet nominees in recent history – Betsy DeVos – Cory Gardner has revealed just how cheaply he can be bought.

Public records show $5,200 flowing from DeVos to Gardner’s 2014 campaign. Sen. Gardner’s “Yes” vote was for a nominee who has never been associated with a public school as a student or a parent, and yet had the gall to call public education a “dead end,” as she did in 2015.

I can only hope, without much reason, that Sen. Gardner will show more dedication to public education in the coming years as DeVos attempts to divert taxpayer funds away from public schools – like Durango’s – to religious and other private institutions.
