San Juan College requires masks indoors

Masks will be required beginning Monday at all indoor San Juan College locations when it is not possible to maintain 6 feet between people.

The indoor mask requirement applies to all classrooms, labs, meeting rooms, college vehicles and other spaces, and to all faculty, staff members, students and visitors to San Juan College campuses, regardless of vaccination status. Masks must cover the nose and mouth.

The new rule is in alignment with updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, recommendations from New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and input from San Juan College’s Pandemic Assessment and Coordination Team.

Unvaccinated people must continue to wear masks indoors at all times. Vaccinated people may remove their mask indoors if alone in a classroom, office or cubicle and there is a minimum of 6 feet of distance from the nearest person.

San Juan College does not require the COVID-19 vaccine at this time, but vaccination is strongly encouraged.
