It’s festival time in PagosaSummertime is festival time, and this weekend is no exception as the 11th annual Pagosa Folk ’N Bluegrass takes place Friday through Sunday. It’s time to load up and the camper and hit the road.
This is going to be a full weekend of music, featuring artists such as Caravan of Thieves, Tony Furtado and Rob Ickes & Trey Hensley. Catch live music during the day and into the evening from the festival’s main stage, and then spend the rest of the night dancing to music from the late night stage.
And if you need a break from just listening to music, you can also take in the music workshops the festival offers, from band arranging to banjo to vocals. And if you’re bringing the kids, there will be plenty of activities to keep them busy as well..
Camping is available for the weekend. For more information, or to grab tickets, check out www.folkwest.com.
Surreal paintings come to life in New MexicoIf you want to know the truth, there’s nothing much cooler than a portrait of a man-cyclops gazing out longingly, rendered in oil.
You can check out the surreal work of local artist Meredith Rose through June 24 at the Henerson Fine Arts Gallery at San Juan College in Farmington.
Rose will be celebrating the opening of her show “Jupiter” with an artist’s reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the gallery, 4601 College Boulevard in Farmington.
