The city of Durango will wait another week to move toward better financial transparency, when it launches a new platform that gives residents an in-depth look at city finances.
The platform, OpenGov, was originally set to launch Thursday, but now will launch Wednesday.
“We want to align OpenGov with the issuance of the proposed budget for 2022,” said city Finance Director Cynthia Sneed.
OpenGov won’t just provide residents with a look at city finances, but will also serve city staff members as a budgeting tool.
“We’re still fine-tuning what we’re going to present to council in the proposed budget, so we want that to be finalized before we open it up for the public to view,” Sneed said.
