The city of Durango’s Parks and Recreation Department will offer two two-day ski and snowboard lessons for children and teens at Chapman Hill on Thursday and Friday and Jan. 2 and 3.
Lessons are available for ages 5 to 16 and will accommodate “never-ever” skiers and riders as well as those who have more experience and would like tips.
The two-day sessions consist of one-hour lessons each day. Snowboarders may sign up for lessons starting at 10 or 11:30 a.m. Skiers may choose lessons starting at 1 or 2:30 p.m. The cost of the two-day session is $65.
Ski and snowboard rentals are not available at Chapman Hill, so participants need to arrange for equipment before arriving. Groups will meet at the bottom of the northern “Little Tow” rope.
