I worked with Dick White for four years while serving on the board of the Sustainability Alliance of Southwest Colorado and partnering on numerous initiatives while serving as coordinator of the Fort Lewis College Environmental Center. Dick has the courage of his convictions, is an effective communicator and tirelessly pursues consensus.
I have confidence that, with Dick on the council, important issues will receive a thorough review and everyone will have their voice heard. Dick has a long-term view on our quality of life and will collaborate with all sides in search for the solutions that will last.
It is essential the city take advantage of his expertise on how to make our community more sustainable. His capacity to translate these ideas into affordable, achievable results is too valuable to trade for unfamiliar leadership.
