Make change at Humane Society meeting

Since the new management at the Humane Society thrift store came on last July, 90 percent of the previous staff has been forced out or fired. Volunteers had duties they loved taken away, so there was only limited work for them to do; as a result out of 69 active volunteers, 55 have left.

Several long-term volunteers (with 9-plus years) were told to leave and can no longer even shop there because they didn’t agree with some of management’s choices. At least the animals are being treated humanely.

I’m urging members of the Humane Society to come to the annual meeting at 10 a.m. May 9 if they want to help make a change. Be sure you’ve paid your dues before April 9.
