Photo: Rafting season officially launches

Warmer temperatures lured dozens of rafters to the Animas River on Tuesday, showing the whitewater rafting season in Durango is well underway. The National Weather Service expects temperatures to remain in the mid-80s until Friday, when temperatures will drop to the mid-70s. The Animas River peaked at 2,685 cubic feet per second on Tuesday.
