Al Roker to broadcast live from Four Corners Monument on Nov. 9

‘TODAY’ host attempts fastest weather forecast
Roker

As he attempts to break a world record, renowned “Today” show host Al Roker will greet the early hours of Nov. 9 with a live weather forecast at the Four Corners Monument.

Rokerthon 2: Taking America By Storm is Roker’s endeavor to break the Guinness World Records for fastest time to report a weather forecast from all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia in one week. It follows last year’s inaugural Rokerthon during which the weatherman set a Guinness record by delivering live weather reports for 34 hours straight.

Roker’s weeklong, nationwide jaunt around the country begins Nov. 6 in Hawaii and, if all goes according to plan, Roker will end up back in New York Nov. 13. Throughout the nationwide trek, Roker will support Feeding America, an organization dedicated to fighting hunger.

The weatherman plans to stop from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. Monday at the Four Corners Monument, where the states of Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico meet.

During the first half of “Today,” Roker will be delivering live weather updates from the monument.

NBC affiliate stations including KOB Albuquerque, KUSA Denver, KPNX Phoenix and KSL Salt Lake City will also rally at the monument alongside Roker and give live broadcasts.

Roker will be joined by Colorado bluegrass band Trout Steak Revival, who will give a live performance. The Colorado Tourism Office will also come armed with Colorado swag including hats and flags for attendees.

Attending Coloradans are encouraged to show state pride by sporting the state logo or donning ski or snowboard gear.

Those interested in getting a cameo in the live broadcasts should arrive at the monument by 4:30 a.m. The monument is located six miles north of Teec Nos Pos, Arizona.
