Build a Better Bayfield set for Aug. 20

Local businesses, agencies exhibiting at Bayfield expo

Looking for a job? Need employees?

How about activities for kids?

What started as a job fair has grown into a combination of business and community expo, recreational and performing arts programs, and more.

The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. next Thursday, Aug. 20 at the Pine River Library in Bayfield. All are welcome, and donations to local food banks will earn participants chances to win door prizes.

The driving force behind the expo is Rhonda Kline, owner of IWC Worker Bees, an employment agency she opened in Bayfield earlier this year.

Kline wanted to host a free job fair for both job seekers and employers, but more and more people asked to join in, so the concept evolved into a community expo.

The library, Bayfield Chamber of Commerce, Pine River Shares and Town of Bayfield are helping sponsor the event. The Upper Pine River Fire Protection District is bringing a fire truck to show kids at the event.

Businesses set to participate include Salon Del Sol and Style Shop, Raw Synergy, Lu La Roe clothing, IWC Worker Bees, Evenings Porch, Pea Pods, Visiting Angels, author Brooke Smith, Kamaska Palates, Bayfield Realty, Be Frank Foundation, Bayfield Association for the Advancement of Music, Studio Sellke, The Choke Cherry Tree, Silver Spruce Academy, Associates Group insurance, Health and Wellness Center, Will Construction, Blue Star Moms, CASA, Premier Designs, Growing Spaces, arist Diane Milner, Pasco Home Health, Farm Bureau, Doterra, Pine River Shares, Bayfield Family Center, La Plata Family Centers Coalition, Bayfield Chamber of Commerce, Pine River Times, Bayfield Heritage Days, Town of Bayfield and parks and recreation, Bayfield Food Bank, Upper Pine River Fire Protection District, and the Pine River Library District.
