Durango Cowboy Poetry thanks community

On behalf of the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering, I would like to thank everyone who attended our eighth annual Outdoor Concert and Barn Dance on June 12 at the gorgeous River Bend Ranch.

Special thanks to the phenomenal Tim Sullivan Band as well as our youth performers Alec Bell and Jordan Kitchens. Many thanks to the Cowboy Poetry Gathering board and their spouses for all their help in setting up for the evening, and especially a big thank you to Kathy Sherer as well as Sue McWilliams for organizing our silent auction, a truly monumental task. Thank you, Lone Spur Café and Cuevas Tacos, for providing food as well as Cream Bean Berry for donating their tasty artisan ice cream, which was quite popular on a very warm afternoon. And of course, the event would not have taken place without the assistance of Dan Diehl and his staff at River Bend Ranch, We are very grateful to The Durango Herald for their coverage of our event and to the community for its support and enthusiasm as we strive to preserve Durango’s Western heritage.
