FLC golf ready to hit the road

Women’s team to host tournament in Albuquerque

The Writz at Mile High and the Swan Memorial are set to highlight the opening of the Fort Lewis College men’s and women’s 2022 fall schedules for golf.

Both teams are slated to kick off their seasons Sept. 10-13. The men will take on The Writz at Mile High in Lakewood, co-hosted by Colorado School of Mines and Colorado Christian. Likewise, the women will head to Thornton for the Swan Memorial hosted by Colorado Christian.

Week 2 features a bye week for the women while the men head to Walking Stick Golf Course for the Farmers Insurance Sam Proal Invitational hosted by Colorado State University Pueblo on Sept. 19-20.

The women’s team returns to action the following week for the Ruidoso Junior Golf Association South Central Shootout. Co-hosted by the RJGA and Western New Mexico, the shootout will take place at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona, on Sept. 25-27.

Both Skyhawks teams will head to Texas to open their October schedules. The women will head to the Amarillo Country Club on Oct. 2-4 for the Ryan Palmer Invitational hosted by West Texas. Just three hours east of Amarillo in Wichita Falls, Texas, the men’s team will compete at the Midwestern State Invitational. The invitational will take place Oct. 10-11 at the Wichita Falls Country Club.

On Oct. 10-11, the women will take their shot at the Farmers Insurance Sam Proal Invitational. Hosted again by Colorado State University Pueblo, the invitational will take place at the Pueblo Country Club.

Finally, the men will close out the fall season on Oct. 24-25 at the RJGA South Central Shootout at the Butterfield Trails Golf Club in El Paso, Texas.

Ending the fall season in host fashion, the women’s team will head to Albuquerque as Fort Lewis College hosts the Nick Turner Invitational on Oct. 16-18. The Skyhawks will compete at the Arroyo Del Oso Golf Course.
