The annual pumpkin and leaf drop-off will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave. in Durango and Eagle Park in Bayfield.
Pumpkins, gourds and fruit are fed to animals on local ranches, while leaves are composted. Residents can also pick up free leaves to use in their home gardens.
The event is sponsored by the city of Durango, Colorado State University Extension Office, Bear Smart Durango, The Good Food Collective, Table to Farm Compost and the town of Bayfield.
