Randy and Marty Ragle of Durango are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on May 26.

The couple met at the University of Kansas in 1971 and married in 1973.

Their first date, on Randy’s motorcycle, started with an Ike and Tina Turner concert, followed by a midnight river sandbar party, and then a moonlight ride until the sun came up.

In 1992, seeking new adventures, they moved to Durango with their son, Luke, and in their words, they “still feel like we are on vacation.”

Durango has been home ever since, and the couple enjoy everything the West offers, and still occasionally go on moonlit motorcycle rides.
