Zach Johnson won the British Open, putting the U.S. in position for its first major sweep since 1982. ... Tiger Woods won in 1999, 2000, 2006 and 2007. He won the last of his 14 major titles in the 2008 U.S. Open. ... The tournament is being played at Whistling Straits for the third time. Vijay Singh won in 2004, and Martin Kaymer in 2010 – both in playoffs. The 2020 Ryder Cup will be played at the Pete Dye-designed course. ...
