Carolyn Bollinger with the La Plata County Humane Society holds Madison on Saturday during the second day of the Adopt-a-Thon. Durangoans flocked to the La Plata County Humane Society’s Adopt-a-Thon held Friday and Saturday. The Humane Society said 52 dogs and cats were adopted during the event.
Charlie Bear, according to the staff of the La Plata County Humane Society, is an awesome dog in the Lonely Hearts Club, meaning he has been there more than 21 days, and his adoption fees have been lowered. LCHS was hoping someone Saturday would take him during the Adopt-a-Thon.
