Celerating the fifth year of the National Rosie the Riveter Rose Garden
From left, Judy Winzell, chair of the Rosie the Riveter National Memorial Rose Garden at the Durango Public Library, Teresa Rushton, Claudine Rushton, Lynn Hughes and Noelle Bryant, dressed as Rosie the Riveter, gather on Saturday to celebrate the five-year anniversary of the garden. The event, attended by about 20 people, was also to honor Claudine Rushton, 99, who riveted ships in the Alameda shipyards during World War II. Her daughter Teresa Rushton is one of the caretakers of the garden. (Jerry McBride/Durango Herald).
