Dear readers,

It is that time of year to ramp up festive activities, spend more time with family, and give greater consideration to nonprofits and the less fortunate. It’s also a time to drag out the dusty holiday decorations and tangled Christmas lights in a collective effort to lift spirits and add to the festive atmosphere.

This year, we’d like to showcase some of the more joyous decorations and lighting displays throughout La Plata County. If you have a Christmas display that you are proud of, please snap some photos and send them to herald@durangoherald.com so we can share them Dec. 22.

Please include your name, address and a few comments about the display. We need to receive photos no later than Wednesday.

With your help, we will have a list of homes worth visiting on a driving tour of La Plata County.

And if you don’t have a display you are proud of, send us photos of your neighbor’s impressive display, ho ho ho!
