Thank you for Wolfwood Refuge rescue coverage

I just wanted to say thank you for the article (Herald, Jan. 31) on the wolfdogs and their pups going to Wolfwood Refuge after being rescued by the Humane Society of the U.S. from a horrific fur and urine farm.

As if the industry’s inherent cruelty wasn’t enough to ban fur, then it must also end for the well-being of our environment and human health.

Fur farms don’t bring up the same environmental concerns for people as Confined Animal Feeding Operations but they should as the waste and viruses produced on fur farms do the same damage.

When we hurt animals, we end up hurting ourselves, so moving to a more compassionate society by advocating for the U.S. to ban the fur trade we would not only be protecting animals but also promoting a more sustainable and safer future for us and our planet.

So, thank you again for highlighting the work Wolfwood Refuge and the Humane Society of the U.S., as it is only with more people knowing about the horrors behind the fashion that we will create a world where cruelty is no longer tolerated and the health of us humans and the health of the planet is prioritized.
